The 420-hectare farm Café de Eleta can be found in the Piedra Candela region, a place where nature, climate and altitude combine to offer one of the best locations in the world for speciality coffee production.
Café de Eleta’s premises are located near La Amistad International Park, a primary rainforest preserve belonging to Central America’s ecological corridor and just 1 kilometre from the Panama – Costa Rica border. Due to its significance to the ecosystem and biodiversity, the park has been declared a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Coffees grown on the farm between altitudes of 1200 to 1675 metres benefit from this special location within the cloud forest, which is rich with exotic species and a wide variety of animals and plants.

They have their own processing facility..the Café Volcan Baru Beneficio .The cherries are washed in spring water and fermented for 36 hours, before patio drying for several days they are washed by hand.(The management of the farm has won an award for one of the best run farms in Central America). They are then stored for over 90 days to develop a more complex and balanced profile . Selection of the best coffees before bagging assures the high quality of the coffee.
